Peninsula Baseball and Softball Association : 13U - PeeWee (Ages 11,12)

This age group  made up of Grade 6 & 7 players will play an interlocking  season with other house teams as well as teams throughout the Great Victoria Baseball Association. This is the first age group where players will be be tiered for the spring season. PBSA will field one AA team and as many A teams as we have registered players for. Players will be able to lead off for stealing purposes, requiring pitchers to hold runners on. The season will culminate with a playoff tournament to crown a GVBA champion. During the the spring season PBSA also offers players wanting additional development and challenges the opportunity to play Prospects baseball. The top PeeWee players selected for the team will face off against other Prospect teams from GVBA and play additional games each Sunday.

GVBA also offers summer baseball opportunities at this level comprised of players selected from throughout Victoria. Players will attend a mandatory 2 day assessment with teams being tiered in AAA, AA, and A. These highly competitive teams will participate in a compact season which runs from June to July with the hope of qualifying for the BC Minor Provincial championships in early August.

PeeWee baseball plays on a diamond with 70' base paths and a pitching rubber set at 48'.

The sessions are tbd.

Your child will receive a team t-shirt, socks and PBSA baseball club hat on the first day of the season. Your player will also require a batting helmet with chin strap, baseball glove, and an athletic support. Please mark/identify all your players equipment to avoid it getting lost.

Team Selection:

At this level players will undergo a two day assessment process to assist in tiering players to participate in either AA or A baseball. Players will be assessed on the following disciplines: hitting, pitching, in fielding, and out fielding. Once assessments are completed teams will be formed with an effort to accommodate any friend/coaching requests.

Players who are successful in making the AA team will be required to pay an additional $75.00 which covers the cost of the AA jersey and the extra umpiring fees.

Coaching and Parent Expectations:

Each team will ideally have 1 head coach, 2 assistant coaches, and a team manager. All parents will also be required to assist with scorekeeping, field setup and take down. More information can be found in the volunteering section of our web site.
